The La Honda Chamber of Commerce says a to-be-named cable TV company will
help facilitate “moderate” competition in a new landscape of “network
convergence (NC).”
An unnamed official from one of the town watering holes is quoted as saying the new company, expected to be a holding entity, is a another step to “explore” convergence that suits La Honda, to “speed up” transformation of the community's admitedly "country" telecom, broadcasting and Internet networks. The other intention is to put a community entity in control to prevent unruly competition.
Workers have already begun the task of installing the infrastructure, reported to consist of downed redwood trees and recycled telephone cable.
