Brian at the Bridge Concert

I first met Brian halfway down Alpine Rd at a down tree. He had his chainsaw, I pulled out mine. After clearing the road we were introduced. Brian had moved in about three years ago now one driveway below me. Turns out there was a drum set in the back of his car. At that time he had played in La Honda once or twice with Bundy Browne but didn't really know anyone else. In all the interviews I have done everyone mentions the depth and variety of the music scene here in the La Honda area. Brian has made a name for himself in a very short time as a drummer, and quiet, unassuming all around nice guy. The music scene in La Honda was a little short of drummers for awhile there and Brian has been welcomed into the fold. He has played gigs around town with several of the local bands and is a regular at some of the jams.
Brian grew up on the peninsula and played sax first in school then switched to drums. Eventually he found his way to La Honda with his partner Erika. Before the move to La Honda Brian was doing a lot of recording. He co-wrote and recorded projects for other bands as well as his own. Here's where the story gets good. A few years back Brian was at a Superbowl party where some drummers got together. During halftime they would all take a drum solo. Brian got up and played. One of the people there invited Brian to head down to his house to play some music. Turns out to be the Bass player from Metalica. They became friends. They'd get together and play music from time to time. At one session Brian and his songwriting partner gave a demo of their songs to Jason. That cassette demo tape morphed into a three year run with the band EchoBrain. Brian did the tour scene and hade a great time while it lasted. For now he seems to be enjoying playing around town with some of the local acts when they need a drummer. His real plan is to put together another recording studio and get back to that side of the music biz. Hey folks, the lesson here is get your music out there for people to hear! Put it out on the internet. You never know what might happen.
