If there is one thing that sums up the music scene in our Coastside area it is the La Honda Country Fair and Music Festival. Put on by locals for locals it embodies the meaning of community. The La Honda Fair has been around in some form or other for close to forty years. Please check out last years La Honda Voice article for more on the history of the fair and the people that have made it what it is today. That can be found at www.LaHonda.com. The Fair has always been a benefit for the art and music programs at the La Honda School. Paula Dennis is the force behind the event. When you see her at the fair be sure to let her know you appreciate the time and effort she has put in to keep it going. The sound crew, Bo from SOUNDsupport and Charlie from Slipperworld Studios along with a few others provide sound that is some of the best I have ever had at music festivals. This years line up features all the regular local bands with a couple of new faces. I'm sure you will also find your favorite artisans showing their wares. Keep the weekend open and come on down to hang out with your neighbors and friends. The town Cafe should be open that Friday night and will host the opening ceremony for the fair. Friday night will feature many of the area's musicians jamming and mixing it up. Saturday night at the cafe after the festival ends will feature The Cowlicks. The Cowlicks play a mix of country, rock, and anything inbetween. It promises to be a great time as usual so here's hoping to see all of you there.
