This month I won’t be talking about another local starving musician. I mean if you want to play music and perform with your band what better than to have your own business that is doing well. Justin Worthington has always had the passion to play music but he has over the last few years built up Skyline Computer repair into a very sucessful local business. Justin grew up in a musical family and living across the road from Shoreline amphitheater meant being exposed to lots of music whether he wanted it or not. He has over 35 years of playing music with his brother James and says that is one of the best things musically. Justin has been in lots of bands over the years most not worth mentioning he says. Justin has made most of his musical connections through The Mountain House and Alice’s Restaurant. Currently he plays drums with the band Point of Order. In fact he is quite excited about his brand new drum kit. Band projects this year include finishing touches on the Band’s music studio and finding a new keyboard player. Point of Order has been working together now for about three years. They play a real mix of styles including R&B, Rock, a bit of World Beat, and a bit of funky stuff. Justin studied at the Jazz Workshop at Stanford. He is influenced by the likes of Phish, The Dead, and Galactic. His favorite gig so far was playing the Little Fox in Redwood City. When I asked about bad gigs he mentions any of the Pioneer gigs or AppleJacks gigs could qualify. Hopefully by this summer we’ll see Point of Order playing out. They hope with the completion of their studio to begin recording. Looking forward to that! If you are a keyboard player that needs some computer repair Justin just might be the guy to call.
